Many people live for weekends, regarding their day jobs only as a place to clock in and clock out. For Ben Hoffman, however, his work is his passion. As a second-generation, part-owner, and manager of Precision Gutters and Roofing, the business is in his DNA.

Originally started by Ben’s parents, Precision is family owned. Ben has had the privilege of watching it succeed and grow over the years and has worked in his current, managerial position for about 2 years.

Ben’s duties include checking in with the gutter manager and meeting with the roofing manager to discuss progress on jobs. He also estimates blueprints sent in by contractors and helps out wherever else he can.

What he loves most about his job are the wonderful team members with which he gets to work on a daily basis. Made up of “rockstars,” his carefully selected team of co-workers brings their own craftsmanship, pride, and individual strengths to the table. They all work great together and enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere. Precision Gutters and Roofing only hires the best of the best which shows in the quality of their work.

For Ben, his team is more than just the people he works with. He cares about them as individuals and loves spending time with his crew. When they arrive back at the shop after a time apart, Ben enjoys hearing about what is going on in their lives.

His favorite memory occurred about 3 years ago when they had to dry a shop before a wild north Idaho snowstorm. The framers finished around 5 pm and then worked from 5 pm to roughly 6:30 am the next day. Ben said, “The roof frosted over and we might have taken a few naps throughout the night but we got it done. We still talk about that job to this day at least once a month!”

Ben takes pride in the way Precision treats its customers. As he put it, “We don’t sell customers on products they don’t need and we don’t install anything we would not put on our own homes.” When it comes to personalized customer care, Ben enjoys a challenge. He loves taking on custom homes with crazy builds in which Precision can go above and beyond, and exceed expectations

Ben considers himself a “huge family guy,” who loves being part of a family-owned and operated business. These values trickle down into the company itself, generating a culture in which people trust each other. Ben is deeply appreciative of his wife who supports him and desires to treat all his customers like family.

Even in his free time, Ben loves working. He and his wife purchased his great, great-grandfather’s homestead which has been in the family since the early 1900s. There is always something to fix or work on there. When he’s not working at his place or in the business he loves fishing, hunting, and hanging out with friends and family.
